The Bigger Picture

Image
When I first started taking pictures on my Sony a6000, I did not pay too much attention to the editing. My idea of editing was putting the picture on instagram, positioning it and then using one of the instagram filters to make it better. If you have a look at my instagram, you will see exactly when I mean. The older pictures have purely been colour edited on my iPhone. The best editors out there come at a price but i have also managed to test our Capture One Pro's 30 day trial and it was really good. I enjoyed a lot of aspects about editing with this software. Looking at videos on youtube, it made me learn more about editing pictures but it also made me think about taking pictures in a certain way which would always make me think about how the picture will turn out post-production. Capture One Pro is a good tool to learn on as everything has been made pretty simple on there to use but it's also used by many professionals. From my research on youtube and instagram, many photo

When you open your eyes and focus on something particular, everything else is just a blur. That is pretty much what the aperture does for the camera in a more technical sense. I recently got myself a new lens, the Sigma 30mm f1.4. This might seem like a bunch of numbers that doesn't make sense to a beginner. Trust me, I was there only a few months ago but now I am in a position to explain this to you. 30mm is the focal length of the lens which means the lens is 30mm away from the sensor on my camera. The best way to explain this would be on a camera that has a zoom lens or any digital camera that has optical zoom. If you zoom all the way out, the front of the lens is closer to the sensor of your camera so you get a wider perspective of the picture you're taking. However, if you zoom in, you get a narrower perspective. f1.4 is the aperture of the lens. This is t

I have been thinking about if i should do this for a while. I have never blogged before or created content for the masses but this is my shot so lets hope it inspires people as much as other contents inspire me. The reason why I wanted to do this is because I have enjoyed photography for a while. I have always been a fan of cool pictures whether they may be taken by professionals or simply people inspired by the pros. Since i bought a Sony a6000 recently, I feel like the possibilities and things I can do with such a compact and affordable camera are endless (although I'd really like a Sony a7 III one day). There are a lot of pros and amateurs that inspire me on instagram and youtube so I have been picking up tips and tricks from here and there and this is my funnel to bring it all in one place so that I can help other beginners like me. My blogs wont be much of a tutorial but a personal journey that I will be learning from and if you guys can learn from what I learn througho
